Writers For The Storm

Writers for the Storm is a grass roots effort started by Songwriters to help aid the victims of the recent Hurricanes. 

"After the disasters in the Gulf Coast, Grace Slick told me that she wanted to help, and so she wrote some lyrics about the tragedy. She asked if I could write some music with a cajun feel. We decided to put the song up for download sale, and donate the proceeds to the victims of the oil spill and Hurricane Katrina.  

With the damage due to the recent hurricanes, it was a no-brainer to re-release the song and donate the proceeds to the folks in Texas. The people at the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF) in Louisiana are giving 100% of what we send them to the people in Texas and Florida."

We have started with a 1 song, 1 dollar, 1 month program. We choose one song a month, sell it for a dollar and donate everything we get to the victims.

We are reaching out to other songwriters (famous or not) to join us and do the same, and for music lovers to download as many of the songs as they wish to help in this effort."
